Before you tap
- It is not on the Play Store, so Android will ask you to allow this once.
- Around 66.7 MB to download, and roughly twice that installed.
- Nothing is stored only on the phone: sign in anywhere and it is all there.
Already have Calcendar installed? If it came from a file somebody sent you rather than from this page, Android may refuse to install over it. Uninstall the old one first. You lose nothing: your clients, sessions and payments are on the server and come back when you sign in.
Installing it
Four taps, and the second one is the only one anybody gets stuck on.
Download the file
Tap the button above, then open the file from your notifications or from your Downloads folder.
Allow this one install
Android says it cannot install apps from this source. Tap Settings, turn the permission on for your browser or your file manager, and come back. You do this once.
Install and open
Tap Install, then Open. If Play Protect asks, choose to install anyway: it says that about every app that did not come from the Play Store.
Sign in
Use your email and password, or Google. No account yet? Tap Create an account and pick a plan; an administrator activates it.
Why is it not on the Play Store?
Because it does not need to be yet. Installing from a file is normal Android and costs you the one permission in step 2. What you give up is Play's automatic updating, which is why the app checks this page for itself and tells you when a newer build is out.
How do updates arrive?
The app asks this page whether there is a newer build and says so when there is. Installing it is the same four steps, over the top of what you have: nothing is uninstalled and nothing is lost, as long as both builds came from here.
It says "App not installed".
That is Android refusing to replace an app signed with a different key, which happens when the installed copy came from somewhere other than this page. Uninstall it, then install this one and sign in. Your data is on the server, not in the app.
Do I have to install anything to try it?
No. The same app runs in a browser at calcendar.com/app, on a laptop or on the phone. The one thing it cannot do is notify you about a session once the tab is closed, which is the reason to install this.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet, and it is not scheduled. The browser app works on an iPhone for everything except reminders. Tell us if you need a real one: it moves up the list on demand rather than on a plan.
